GUATEMALA POSTER SERIES
Adobe Illustrator
22” x 36.2”
This project focused on emulating the design style of a well-known graphic designer while incorporating subject matter that is personally meaningful to me. I studied the posterized style of designer Michael Schwab and applied it to themes from my experiences on several mission trips to Guatemala. Using personal reference photos, I created illustrations in Schwab’s signature vectorized style.
I developed a phrase in the poster series that reflects the immense gratitude the people of Guatemala have, despite their challenging circumstances. I chose Schwab’s style because he often highlights locations in his work while also evoking particular emotions, which is exactly what I aimed to achieve in this project.
